Preply is an online language learning marketplace that connects learners with tutors through a machine-learning-powered recommendation algorithm. As part of the onboarding we developed a feature called “ Lesson Insights ” that are AI-generated lesson summaries that provide personalized feedback on vocabulary, grammar, and speaking, along with tailored exercise suggestions.
Role: UI/UX Design, Prototyping, Web design & Design system

→ Problem Statement
Learners often stop taking lessons when they can’t see how each lesson connects to their learning plan. Tutors also had no easy way to summarise a lesson, track progress, or show a learner how far they’d come. The learners wanted insights to get personalized feedback about their strengths and areas to improve after each lesson and an organized way of keeping track.

Make every lesson part of a visible learning path. Tutors close lessons with clear wins and next steps, and open the next one from the previous insights. Learners see their progress, which supports retention. They give personalised feedback on vocabulary, grammar, and speaking, plus tailored exercise suggestions. The feature is clear that AI handles summaries and tracking while the human tutor stays central.
